Glass by Wood is the studio of Amy Wood and her son Joe Wood. The studio is located in Denver, CO and creates glass pieces for the home as well as beaded jewelry. Both Amy and Joe have been involved in creative activities for many years but did not discover glass as a medium until about 10 years ago. Amy worked in the food industry and later as a social worker. Joe is currently involved in politics and government.
Our inspiration comes from old botanical prints, architectural drawings, and the natural world. Glass intrigues us – it offers lessons in art, in the sciences, and in patience. Color and form are balanced with temperature, time and the molecular and chemical composition of materials. We work to keep our processes clean and responsible and our products are designed to be used and appreciated.
